Indian billionare, Mukesh Ambani, has arranged a fleet of 100 planes, including three Falcon 2000 jets, to ensure guests arrive in style for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre.
The highly anticipated wedding of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, to Radhika Merchant, daughter of businessman, Viren Merchant, is set to be a grand affair.
Both families have already hosted several extravagant ceremonies attended by prominent figures from around the world, including business leaders, CEOs, political figures, celebrities, and industrialists.
Star-Studded Pre-Wedding Celebrations
The Ambanis have gone above and beyond to ensure that the pre-wedding celebrations are nothing short of spectacular.
International A-listers like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Rihanna have been brought in to perform at these events.
Each ceremony has surpassed the previous one in grandeur, culminating in the wedding that took place on July 12, 2024, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
To accommodate the influx of high-profile guests, the Ambanis made extensive arrangements for transportation.
According to reports from the Mint, Indian Express, Hindustan Times, and other sources, the Ambanis, who have a net worth of over Rs 9 lakh crore, arranged for three Falcon 2000 jets to transport guests to the wedding ceremony in Mumbai.
Rajan Mehra, CEO of Air Charter company, Club One Air, confirmed to Reuters that the Ambanis rented three of their Falcon 2000 private jets for this purpose.
He also mentioned that over 100 private planes were used during the wedding festivities.
“The guests are coming from all over, and each aircraft will make multiple trips across the country,” he had told Reuters.
The Ambanis had made similar arrangements earlier this year when they hosted a three-day pre-wedding extravaganza in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
According to The Times of India, they had arranged multiple flights and private jets for guests traveling from different parts of the country to Jamnagar. Additionally, The Hindu reported that the Jamnagar airport had been granted international status for 10 days during the pre-wedding celebrations.
To manage the traffic congestion, the Mumbai Traffic Police released a traffic a+dvisory on July 5. The advisory outlined new traffic rules, including diversions and restricted access, that will be in effect from July 12 to July 15 on routes leading to the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) where the wedding took place.
This ensured that the grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant proceeded smoothly, with every detail meticulously planned to provide an unforgettable experience for their esteemed guests.
